Rabbeting Plane Iron Blanks

Rabbeting Plane Iron Blanks (O1 Tool Steel, unhardened), with the tang centered, are for creating traditional rabbeting planes. All are 8″ (20.32cm) long, have a bit length of 2-3/16″ (5.55cm) and are tapered from 1/8″ (3.17mm) to 1/16″ (1.58mm) over the total length of the blade.

Sizing Information:

• 5/8″ = .813″ (2.07cm) blade width , 3/16″ (4.76mm) tang width.
  For 5/8″ rabbeting planes.

• 3/4″ = .937″ (2.38cm) blade width, 1/4″ (6.35mm) tang width.
  For 3/4″ rabbeting planes.

• 7/8″ = 1.063″ (2.70cm) blade width, 5/16″ (7.94mm) tang width.
  For 7/8″ rabbeting planes

• 1″ = 1.18″ (3.00cm) blade width, 3/8″ (9.53mm) tang width.
  For 1″ rabbeting planes.

• 2″ = 2-3/16″ (5.56 cm) blade width, 1/2″ (1.27 cm) tang width.
  For 2″ rabbeting planes.

Materials:

Rabbeting Plane Iron Blanks are made from annealed AISI O1 tool steel, unhardened. Irons cannot be returned once they have been cut or heat treated.
